    Firefox - How Do I Preserve All My Data ...

    ... been having issues with certain websites hanging. The issues are not happening on other browsers. The advice being given is to completely uninstall Firefox and install it fresh. However, I want to preserve all my bookmarks, passwords etc. before I do so and would like to know how it is done and how to restore them back to the new install.

    -thx

    You could use this command to clear out part of Firefox's cache. It seems to help a lot of the time.
    EmptyFirefoxCache.bat
    Code:
    :: Command provided by
    :: Firefox cache clearing tool - TM post #8 - ElevenForum
    :: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/laptop-slowing-down.13934/post-283054
    :: This deletes the files [*.*] but leaves the folders - I thought it had gone wrong until I realised
    del /F /S /Q "C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*.*"
    You could just stick the command into a shortcut instead but I like to keep acknowledgements of the source of tweaks so a batch file was what I decided to use.
    I run the batch file using a shortcut set to run Minimised so it does not make any difference in practice except that I can place the batch file in a protected folder along with all my other scripts & portable utilities.
