    Can't uninstall Mullvad Browser

I thought I'd try Mullvad browser, out of curiosity, but decided it wasn't for me. I'm running Windows 11.

The program shows up in my "all apps " but when I click on "uninstall" the uninstaller opens but "mullvad" doesn't show up. Revo uninstaller can't find it, either. Any ideas how I can uninstall this program? I like the Revo uninstaller app because it's always worked well for me. It's a mystery why it can't find "mullvad". Thanks in advance for your help. Ed

If you have issues with Windows 11, post in our sister forum for better results General Support | Windows 11 Forum

This Browser does not install to the Windows OS so, it won't show up in Installed Apps in the Control Panel.
They suggest just deleting it's folder and shortcut to remove it Allow easy uninstalling of mullvad browser from windows . Issue #32 . mullvad/mullvad-browser . GitHub
If you have an app that does not show an Uninstaller or listed in Installed Apps, you can use the Revo Uninstaller Hunter Mode to remove it.

Mr Ed, said he already tried Revo ! So if you want it gone along with all the files connected run this program & post the reports for me to type a fix !

    FARBAR (FRST)
Download Farbar Recover Scan Tool for 64 bit systems <<<< Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool >>> and save it to your Desktop. <<< Important
If your computer language is other than English right click on the FRST64 icon and rename it to FRST64english
    * Right click on the icon and select Run as administrator
    * Note: If you receive any warning about the download it is a false positive and you can ignore it. Click on More info to get the Run anyway option
    * Click Yes to the disclaimer
    * Click Scan and allow the program to run
    * Click OK on the Scan complete screen, then OK on the Addition.txt pop up screen

2 Notepad documents should now be open on your desktop.
Please copy and paste the contents of each report in separate reply windows

    - sure, but probably not its Hunter mode as mentioned in Spunk's post, where you browse to e.g. a folder or exe of the program and then scan.

It does have some sort of installation sequence:

Thanks for all the replies. I didn't know there was a separate W11 forum.

UPDATE: I tried again today, and it looks like the situation may have resolved itself. I deleted the Mullvad icon from the desktop and "Mullvad" can't be found anywhere, as if it never existed. I have no idea what went on! Anyhow, thanks for responding, folks.

If you've only deleted the shortcut and done nothing else- it will be there somewhere.

No don't use that unless you understand how to configure it.

It installs to desktop by default to deleting the folder should be enough.

    Can't uninstall Mullvad Browser-mullvad-browser-setup.jpg

    Uninstall

    Exit the Mullvad Browser.
Delete the Mullvad Browser folder and the shortcut on the Desktop.
Delete the Mullvad Browser shortcut in the Start menu.
    Empty the Recycle bin.

Uninstallr doesn't detect it. I just tried it. Geek Uninstaller doesn't detect it either. Nor does Hibit Uninstaller or Advanced Uninstaller Pro.

So from that I can only suggest that it's actually a portable app that doesn't install like a regular program. With portable apps you just delete them manually.
