Alternative to the spam folder for blocking spam gmails?

Instead of maintaining an ever growing spam folder, is there another way to deal with it?

How? I don't see that option. Supposedly, there's something under "more", but I don't see it?

You didn't even mention what client you're using to view your mail so no further info without further info.

You haven't acknowledged my post above.

Despite that, let's give you the long explanation.

I use gmail as one email account. I do not normally use a browser to access my gmail account.
I either use Poppeeper or Thunderbird (programs I have installed).

These are known as email clients i.e. programs that you run that can receive, send, display and store email - on your PC.
    They log in for you.

    I'm guessing you have to
    - open a browser
    - go to gmail
    - then review your mail

and your mail is NOT stored on your PC.

Of course, as you're unsure, you could have done this:

What do you mean by 'maintaining'? What is there to maintain? If you mean the folder the spam emails go in to, just delete them. If you mean a list of spammer email addresses, it shouldn't require active action beyond adding new spammers occasionally.

I understand, but since I mentioned "gmail", I figured it would be understood it's the website. not an email app, since there are no "more" options elsewhere?
