Alternative to the spam folder for blocking spam gmails?

    I don't know what email provider you use. Just 'sending an email to the spam folder' may not tell the server anything, only clicking the 'mark this as spam' or whatever equivalent command is. But if you get a message, move it to a spam folder, then remove it from the spam folder, it is gone (depending on where you removed it to). It is not going to get forwarded anywhere, or appear in your inbox.
