    Hi, see if these help:
Windows 11/10: How to Set up Email in the Mail App (Easy Way) - YouTube
How to add an email account to the Mail app | Windows 10 | Microsoft - YouTube

Note that the Mail app is a rather basic email client - and it is not so straightforward to find a way to back up email and settings, or to transfer them to another PC.

There are some much fuller featured free 3rd party email clients around.

Some providers need to you use a provider generated password.

Yes, that is a very annoying 'feature' of certain Store apps and MS accounts.

Simply because it's an outdated, outmoded, unsupported program with a leftover legacy from much earlier versions of Windows.

It should have been removed but was left in later/current versions of Windows because of laziness in programming by Microsoft.

I have used the Mail App for 8 years with no major problem on 6 Email accounts, that includes Outlook Mail and Gmail which are 2 of the most popular free Email Accounts and an ISP provided Account.

Without more details impossible to say what the problem is.

It is being replaced by the Outlook App in 2024, so I won't be wasting time on this one.

"unsupported program with a leftover legacy from much earlier versions of Windows."

Total nonsense as always from non-user spammers, the Mail App is updated currently at the rate of twice a week.
