Can apps see your browsing history?

Can apps that are downloaded from the Windows Store access your browsing history in Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc.? If yes, are there any privacy settings that can disable this?

4 of the Best Internet History Tracking Apps You Can Use - Make Tech Easier

    Technically speaking:
Not unless the app is specifically meant to look at your browsing history, then other apps aren't supposed to be designed to look at your browsing history. It's possible that some "non-authentic" apps may look at your browsing history, to try to give you ads that show similar things to what you browse in browsers like Chrome, Firefox, etc...

That's just speaking from a possible scenario.

You can try researching an app you get from the Windows Store to see if it looks at your browser's history. That's one possible method that you can try looking at, to make sure an app doesn't look at your browser's history.

    For example:
    • Suppose you download a Windows Store app called: App123
    • And you use Google Chrome as your internet browser
-> You can search the internet: App123 Google Chrome browser history

If you don't find any relevant results, at all, then most likely the app doesn't look at your browser's history.
