"Secure Connection Failed" Problem

All of a sudden I could not access the homepage
of every one of the four browsers that I use, namely:
Firefox, Edge, Pale Moon, and Waterfox. All other
websites are available. The homepage is:
" Google Advanced Search "
Instead I get a " Secure Connection Failed " message.

What could be the problem?

- verify time on your computer is correct

B. I use Windows Defender Firewall.

C. "www.google.com / advanced_search" is what's inputted in the Settings. It's also what I entered in the post. This editor must have changed it. (For this post I surrounded the forward slash with spaces).

D. The time is correct (same as to what's on my cell phone).

Other things you mentioned look fine.

I never installed an add-on which upgrades HTTP to HTTPS.
But I noticed a padlock icon before the url when this trouble appeared.

Entering
"http://www.google.com / advanced_search", (space added on either side of the slash)
instead of
"https://www.google.com/advanced_search", (space added on either side of the slash)
works!
