    The link worked for me. What Internet security software are you using?
    I do not use an internet security software. Windows Security is good enough for me. Thanks!

    Thanks to all who helped, specially to zebal.

    I have decided to stop using Google Advanced Search.
    to avoid this problem. If I have the time I might format
    and re-install Windows 10.

    No need to reinstall the OS. Check about://flags for http to https flag enabled.

    @martian
    In addition to what @bro67 said, you should take a look into internet settings -> advanced in control panel and make sure TLS 1.2 is not disabled.

    alternatively, from the link I gave you, these are 2 registry locations:

    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp\
          DefaultSecureProtocols = (DWORD): 0xAA0
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp\
          DefaultSecureProtocols = (DWORD): 0xAA0
    What are the present values there?

    Thanks to those who replied, especially to callender.
    I have decided to stop using Google Advanced Search as my homepage since this is the cause of the problem.
