Outlook MFA Sync enabled? What does it do?

I知 a bit concerned about this setting called Sync Account under the MS Authenticator app.
Hopefully this will not sync my account password to the cloud.

Is this ok to turn off?

    Is this any useful?

I知 just afraid it will sync my account password or other information to the cloud which I don稚 want.

It allows your info to sync between multiple devices using the authenticator app. And yes it is stored on Microsoft's servers. A Cloud drive is nothing more than network storage whether it is on a LAN/Intranet or the Internet. Your info is only as secure as you make it and let others have access to.

I知 going to stop it from syncing. I知 just too paranoid about this. Don稚 want any of my account details to be synced to any server.

Another question, and sorry if I知 a bit off topic.

Is creating a recovery email safe in case I lose my phone with the MS Authenticator so at least I can access my account using my recovery email?
