    Edge on Android drains battery

Normally I do a close all apps when I am not using my smartphone. Nonetheless I see battery goes from 42% to 36% in just an hour or so. I see Edge is draining the battery. Seems I am more or less forced to use another browser?
It seems the only way to go is to switch to another browser?
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

P.s. after sending this thread 36% dropped to 31% rediculous...

supose it's also what you have Edge doing in background ? check the browser settings make sure all background services close when you close the app.

In Edge, the only thing I can disable is
"Remove permissions if app is unused"

What do you use on your desktop pc?
(No sync - Smartphone <-> Desktop?)
    Android password manager?

That aside, there are a number of drawbacks when switching to another browser.

    1. Am quite used to Edge, know where to find what. I need to figure this out when using another browser

    2. I have set up the 'New Tab' page to show a number of frequently used sites
(vainly tried to accomplish this in Chrome, haven't tried out other browsers)

    3. My feeling is that Edge is doing a better job on blocking ads (compared to Android Chrome, even though blocking ads is enabled within Chrome). Except for youtube: whilst watching youtube on smartphone you'll get a boatload of ads.
Probably this is the same with any Android browser.

    4. I use Edge on my desktop PC and other devices (Surface Pro, VM, laptop)

That said, I am sure there are some great Android browser around (like Vivaldi, Brave, etc.)
