    Facebook spam emails

I have never officially used Facebook. On a rare occasion I might visit a page from a google search, but no participation there. Yet in the past two days I've received two emails from them, even tho I marked the first as spam.

The spam options were "Report as Spam", and "Report and unsubscribe". I chose "Report as Spam" because first of all, I don't have any sort of subscription to anything Facebook related, and, for security purposes, didn't want to use the "unsubscribe" links in the notification.

I need an explanation. I believed that once marked as spam, they would be at least rerouted to my spam folder, but not the case.

I wonder if they’re phishing emails. If you had clicked on the link I suspect it would’ve asked you to sign in to Facebook. If you hover your mouse over any links I bet they don’t go to the genuine site.

That, along the fact there wasn't a redirect to the spam folder is why I'm here.

Why I don't know is why there was a delay, but currently the emails, two more of which arrived today, are are being directed to spam.

The email address is Facebook Pages <pageupdates@facebookmail.com

All the links begin with facebook.com (www. in front)

Strange, the email domain is one which Facebook uses according to their help pages.
Either someone has signed your email up for Facebook or they have an email address similar to yours & they entered their email address incorrectly.
