    FireFox v.111.0 issues

    Just updated FF to v.111.0 and this thing is a resource hog at best. The process count is up to 28 after loading the home page and is sucking up just shy of a GB of memory. I opened the bookmarks tab and the screen just sits there with the spinning blue circle. No noticeable issues during the update. The mouse will move on the screen, but has no effect on anything.

    FF 111.0 hasn't caused those issues for me.
    I think you have something else either causing or helping to cause the problem.

    Have you tried running a virus scan?

    With four tabs open I only see 13 processes, and 450MB memory usage.
    With six tabs, I see 17 processes and 640MB of RAM usage.

    And I'm on Win 11 (at the moment), which I believe uses "more" than Win 10.
    I was just on Win 10 about 30 mins ago, and I didn't notice anything strange on FF 111.0

    @jamis

    You have some things to try...

    1. Try FF in Safe Mode (Help > Troubleshoot Mode). If it works in Safe Mode, it's probably one of your extensions.
    2. Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile for testing purposes...

    3. If it works in the new profile, then your existing profile is probably corrupt.

    Firefox is a memory-hog on any OS the last 5-10years.
    Right now I'm on Linux Debian and i have one FF 91ESR open with 2 windows and around 30tabs.. and.. i have one FF102ESR open with 14 windows and around 400+tabs.. those two together uses "thanks to isolated content activated" uses 70+processes and 9GB ram
    Do you guys remember the time when 4GB ram was sooooo overkill. *lol*

    Edit
    There is a few different tools to see what is using resources.. about: performance something
    To see them all... type in about:about and you get all different things they have put in to FF
