I hate this restoring old bookmarks!

Microsoft Edge usually works fine, but one this is really frustrating: for one reason or the other it may happen that, all of a sudden, old bookmarks are being restored.

Maybe they rolled over from Edge on a VM or so, I don't know.

At the top of my feature request would be that bookmarks are always sync'ed 1 way, or alternatively, there would be a way to 'restore' a recent version of some automatically saved bookmarks file.

I may restore a file that I saved weeks ago, after an earlier cleanup, but no guarantee that again a boatload of old s...t is sync'ed from some device (VM's? Smartphone? Surface Pro?)

    Deep sigh...

Are you logged in to an MS account ? Are you using OneDrive ?

Probably just synching with somewhere the oldbookmarks are still stored

Go into Manage Favo(u)rites in Edge ... is there a feral folder in there containing these old bookmarks ?

When I log into my browser, I use my Google account (Gmail). That is to say, I open the Google site and then right top corner, log in. There I use my Gmail account.
    Is that what you mean?
Other matters (like Office, OneDrive, I am using my Outlook account)

At least I know that desktop Edge does not sync with Android Edge (meaning from Android > desktop).
I have favourites on Android that do not show up in the desktop version of Edge.

You should log out of all browser user accounts (O/Drive, Microsoft, Google, etc) and try to see whether the problem still exists

I suspect it's a (Windows) synching issue given it doesn't happen with Android.
