Proposed Total Overhaul Of Thunderbird Due July !
According to the latest edition of the UK Computeractive magazine (page 7) Mozilla plans to redesign Thunderbird "from scratch" to mark the 20th anniversary of the email client.
The article goes on to say that the new version will appear in version 115 of the software. It goes on to say Mozilla described Thunderbird as an "OLD FRAGILE LEGO TOWER" that needs to be carefully rebuilt to make sure it works for the next 20 years.
What ******** person at Mozilla took the decision to mess with an email service that currently operates efficiently .is easy to use and highly customisable.
There is a link in the magazine to a blog post regarding the new Thunderbird.
So what do they think they could do to make it better, perhaps there thinking is to add adverts to the interface but thats just my opinion of what they may or may not do.
Will there be stalling, authentication errors ,emails disappearing in the new Thunderbirds early days ?
Do Mozilla actually carry out any user research to see what the public wants for Thunderbird or is it just someones vanity project at Mozilla ?
If the date was April 1st (April fools day) I would think it was all one big joke that no one is laughing at !
