Well, I’m getting my lunch ate! I’ve been running Windows 10 Enterprise for a few years now and the OS was corrupted after a Microsoft update. Bloatware started appearing and keep increasing to a point where the OS was running too slow to use. My thinking was do a clean install of the OS which was successful and the OS is up and running properly now.
Now I’m having browser a browser problem! The only browser that I have ever used is Firefox and I decided I would try Microsoft Edge because it appears that this the direction that Microsoft is moving. I’m thinking is that the days using any other browser on Microsoft Windows will be soon limited. Microsoft has a down load page (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge...d?form=MA13FJ0) for their latest offering of Microsoft Edge. I did a download of the Windows 64-bit, version 110.0.1587.41. When I started Microsoft Edge, I could believe my eyes! The screen was covered with small open windows with different websites running in each window. This is completely unusable for me; I need a clean browser for my work. I’ve tried everything I know to fix this mess but have been unsuccessful.
If I can’t resolve this problem, my only solution for me would purchase Windows 10 Enterprise LSTC because I know I can load up Firefox without any problems. I’m a trader and need to be up and running before the Markets open late Sunday evening. Any help or direction on how to setup the Microsoft Edge would be deeply appreciated!
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2 64-bit System (KB5022282) OS build 19045.2486
These are the extensions in my Edge, so you don't have to be bothered by all the zillions of commercials.
In edge://flags/ you could also enabled some flags that will make your browser quicker.
Let me investigate little...
You have to be careful about the flags....those two are ok. There are lot of them so you have to be investigate for your self, it is dependent of what resources you got on the PC.
But be careful.
Yes, default Edge is a mess, MS keeps adding one "useful" feature after another.
For starters blocking "ntp.msn.com" via HOSTS or DNS will get you a clean new tab.
Pretty much everything can be disabled, I do it via policies, Edge section in my tweaks.
Thank you so much for the information. I will give it a try after I get some sleep! I've been working with computers for a very long time and I've never seen anything like this Microsoft Edge. If you download it from the website shown below
and start it up MS Edge looks awful. I haven't been able to find any complete documentation, it appears that you have to build a browser from different parts.
I've been using Proton VPN for several years, it provide a secure pathway for financial data that I use in Trading. It also, blocks malware, ads, and trackers. All of the data and my IP address is encrypted. I have it set to startup when I login and it starts working.
Thanks again for you information.
Regards,
tk

Hello Brony,
Thank you so much for all your information. I checked out your Github site, and it appears to contain very good information. You put in a lot of hard work setting all that up! I truly don't understand Microsoft, it appears to me that they enjoy shooting their self in the foot! It is beyond me why they keep adding more and more Bloatware, it is just getting awful! I can tell you many Microsoft users are not happy campers! I might have to purchase Windows 10 Enterprise LSTC, it is rock solid, contains no bloatware and very few if any updates. I haven't been able to make any Trades since late Tuesday and It's costing me money to be down like this! I need to get a little sleep, I've been up all night.
