    WARNING chrome://flags/#high-efficiency-mode-available WARNING

My browser crashed completely when I tried to establish this flag...(luckily I had a fresh backup in Macrium. )

The extension or "flag" as they call this bug is discussed here:

I have a bunch of tabs (4 that take a lot of memory) open in Google Chrome the whole time...

Yes it's a memory hog, but still:

(I only have a few other not-so-memory-hogging apps open right now.)
6 GB, in total, is not that bad. (I'll say Google Chrome is taking up an estimate of 4 GB or so... unless you want to add up the numbers in the first blue rectangle above...)

This was a "flag", not tabs...

I gotcha, but the article says: How to Reduce Google Chrome's Memory and CPU Usage

You're not going to notice that much a difference even if you enable that flag.

Site says it will reduce the memory about 40%.

    So for me: 40% of ~4 GB = ~1.6GB
So I can save ~1.6 GB.
Hence: 6.0 GB - 1.6 GB = I'd have 4.4 GB in use by the computer, instead of 6.0 GB

Now let's say that article was published in 2010, then YES! DEFINITELY save yourself some memory!!

Many of the "flags" are really nice in fact, and usually flags that are available in the ordinary version of the browser have been tested long time in the developer and beta version...

Anyway, if someone want to test this bug, be sure to have a fresh back-up first.

Lost In Space? Come back to earth!

Remember when Google Chrome had a REALLY awesome feature to mute any one tab at a time, instead of muting the whole entire Google Chrome with all its tabs at once? That was the BEST one ever, until they depreciated it...

    ...but then, problem solved. =)
(someone made an extension for that)

So useful when you have multiple tabs playing audio.
