Change Homepage in Edge

Computers know how to drive me nuts. I just got a new (new to me anyway) PC and started installing things I want on it.

One thing I want to do change the home page in Edge. I know how that is supposed to work:
Open Microsoft Edge, select Settings and more Three-dot More icon > Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon.
Select Appearance.
Turn on Show home button.
You can either choose New tab page or select Enter URL for a page that you want to use as your home page.

I get to Appearance OK, but I do NOT see the "Show home button".

Now what the heck? Any ideas?

I even put the URL (google.com) where it said to place it and it still does NOT open on google.

Even if you push the house (that means HOME I guess)...?


You may try:
"https://www.google.com" without the ""

No, that is ok.....but you also have to push the "house" button when you are opening Edge.


It does work in my Edge and also Edge Beta with "https://www.google.com" ....after I had push the "House" button.
