Well, Everything shows 522 file objects with Edge in the name still remaining (which has made me wonder about Revo Uninstaller Free Portable), RegScanner shows 1,328 registry entries and my scalp shows considerably less hair.![]()

I'll be usin' it but I would still like to wait a few cycles an see what happens naturally. I'll post back, I'm gettin' ready for bed.
Stay safe,

Had some action overnight.
All machines had no icon as of last night:
- System One; In My Computer stats - Test machine has the four extra reg. tweaks. No update (definition updates), No icon. Firefox as default.
- System Two; In stats - As Control machine does not have tweaks. No update, does have icon. Edge is default. Left icon to see if it will double.
- System Three; My ol' gateway DX4831-01e beater upgraded win7 to win10, not in stats ran as control does not have tweaks. No updates, no icon. Firefox default.
@RickC I haven't ran your tip; PS C:\> Update-MpSignature cmd yet. Do you know if it shows the time of update? Is this the link? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/po...sserver2022-ps
Saw this article today. Haven't yet tried.
The only way to prevent the desktop shortcut from showing up again, no matter if this happens after an update or due to another reason, is to create a new registry entry that will define a new rule in this regard.
To do this, launch the Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Start menu and then navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate
Next, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value called CreateDesktopShortcutDefault and set its value to 0. Close the Registry Editor, delete the current Microsoft Edge shortcut (if it’s still available on the desktop) and reboot the device.
Just a moment...
