This is outdated and doesn't work. I have Edge 108.0.1462.76 installed. The Edge Active Setup key does exist but without the stub path dword
I thought I was up-to-date but no... I have an earlier version of Edge installed (v92) and it worked. I'll have to do another update and check again.

Update: Edge has been updated to v108. I shut down and rebooted... no Edge pinned to taskbar.

Maybe it actually needs the StubPath entry (it's REG_SZ, not REG_DWORD) but with a null value? The Nutanix article I linked to certainly suggested that.

Update: I signed out then signed in as a standard user... no Edge pinned to taskbar. As a check I opened Edge and suffered its excruciating new user experience, closed it then shut down and rebooted, logging in again as the same standard user... no Edge pinned to taskbar.

(Now all I have to do is adapt this to my customised Windows 10 Decrapifier script.)

    Hope this helps...

No there's no way you can fix it, it keeps on pinning.
