Have used free version of eM client for several years. Only limitation for me is you can only have two email accounts on the free version. Had tried Thunderbird in past, but had (unremembered) problems with it.

Outlook for the last 20+ years in various jobs and at home. Same for wife.

It works well for what we need it so there is no real motivation to change. Some of my friends also still use Outlook, even though we are all retired.

I used to get Office for free from employers, now I'm using Office 365.

    Buy one time payment Office

Buy Office 2021 for $149.99 at Microsoft.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/micr...ot:overviewtab
    Never have to upgrade again.

    Amazon sells it at $119.98
    Amazon.com

Buy Office 2016 for under $100 at Ebay. I use this on my Windows 10 pc.
    https://www.ebay.com/p/2076190020

I have Office 2013 on a Windows 7 laptop. The Word program snaps open very quick!

The difference between the programs is hardly anything in all the years.

    Thanks for the great tip.
PC World is saying it is legit.
I just bought it from their site: ProPlus2021Retail
Price Drop: Get a lifetime license to MS Office Pro 2021 for just $40 | PCWorld

Comparison shows it includes all of Office.
    Microsoft Office Versions. A Comparison

During the order process you sign in with your Microsoft account or create one then you click on a button called: 'Redemption Link' and you will now see your license. Copy it multiple places for safe keeping.

I choose to download 'Offline installer' which is 4.5gb...!
In case I need to install at a later date. I will copy it to a usb drive, external drive etc.

It's not really PC World per se. It's pc world's sales affiliate team that gets a commission which means stuff are not really vetted by people.

It's just some guy contacting pc world sales affiliate commission team and the pc world sales guy who works on commission takes the deal.

What is the purpose of using a mail app?

    Does mail apps receive gmail?

What is the difference of going to web browser gmail website and login vs using a mail app?

I did not use mail app, not sure what are the benefits.

It is mainly convenience but there can be fringe benefits.
    - My MSOffice Outlook, for example, allows me to drag mail into the filing system and I do that for all emails I want to keep so that they are in the same folder as other documents about the same topic and they get included in my routine backups.
    - I have MSOffice Outlook running all the time. It checks my mail for me & sounds an alert when emails arrive. So, if there's no alert, I do not have to interrupt what I'm doing to find out if there's mail or not.

They can but Google has made that difficult for many older email applications.
If you search the forum for mail app passwords for Google or similar you should find some of discussions of the scheme.
You will also find info here
    Email clients (POP/IMAP) - Google
Add GMail to another email client - Google

    Best of luck,
    Denis

When you use a email client, you don't have to look at ads.
