    Edge Chromium Run By W10?

We never use Edge Chromium and it isn't in any startup processes that I can see. We run CCleaner after every internet activity and it is set to clear everything for all browsers. CC is nearly always finding a bunch of Edge Chromium files to delete and stops with an error pop up that EC is running and needs a response to continue. Of course we click to end EC and CC continues deleting all of the selected EC files. I am assuming that W10 is running EC for reporting purposes like it used to do with IE, correct?

An example: The system was powered on this morning with a run of FF and eM client and two hours later CCleaner was run. It stopped because EC was running in the background. EC had created 32 files totaling 9,493 kb. EC had not run the day before from 4PM until shut down at 11P when CC was run.

Well, Edge Chromium files have disappeared from the CCleaner delete report. They stopped showing up a couple of weeks ago, so I'm going to assume MS has stopped doing something that caused the browser to run in the background.

The problem with CCleaner, is its that powerful, when you delete everything, sometimes mistakingly, you'll delete all the log files for apps, any registry entries that you changed, possibly other cache files that are important, sometimes, it'll put it all back.
Then it looks like its all clean. Mainly because you deleted the apps log files and its not showing anything.

I always go into the Firewall and delete the inbound permissions for edge. Even delete all the firewall permissions for edge.
You'll know if its still active and running behind your back, because after a while, say a week, it'll have sneakily found its way back into your firewall and enabled all inbound and outbound permissions again. Nasty

    Try that.
