Edge Jump List on the taskbar not showing favorites websites

    Hi guys

I would like to pin some websites to the Edge icon on the taskbar, but the problem is these websites don't show up in the recent or top sites in Edge Jump List on the taskbar.

I have them in my favorites, could that be why they don't show up?

meanwhile, there are a bunch of other pages in the recent list.

But how do I add my favorite sites to the Edge Jump List on the taskbar if they don't appear there?

    I'm using windows 10 21H2 x64 v19044.1949
and Edge v105.0.1343.33 (Version officielle) (64 bits)

There is very limited control of what you can choose to pin to a jump list:
Pin or Unpin Items on Jump Lists in Windows 10

It sounds as if you want a set of shortcuts to favourite web sites available from your taskbar.

One way you might do that is to create a folder containing those URL shortcuts and add that as a toolbar.

Example- here I've put 2 URL shortcuts to 2 tenforums links into a folder (which in this example you can see)- then created a toolbar from that folder. Clicking on the toolbar icon shows these.

Click on one of those and either a new tab opens, or if no browser is open, it will launch your browser.

thanks for the suggestion, I remember doing exactly that back in post windows 7 days when ms decided to drop the quicklaunch toolbar.

But nowadays I'd prefer to pin the sites.

the feature is nice to have but like you said it's very limited.

I wonder if there's an app to manage & backup those, or some registry hack somebody knows?

Oh, I forgot- if you create a URL shortcut, you can left drag it to the Edge icon pinned to the taskbar, then you release to Pin to Microsoft Edge.

    ok now we're talkin !

Thank you for this tip, it works pretty well!

Also a tip I read somewhere else is to open the site(s) you want to pin, then close them but leave one tab open, give it a few seconds and they should show up in the recently closed.

The trick is to leave one tab open to some other site then the one you want to pin AND wait a few seconds to open the Edge jumplist on the Taskbar.

I also like your idea of dragging shortcuts to the Edge icon, many thanks Dalchina!

Yes of course it works by pinning 'recent' items.. but the shortcut option means you can name it as you will in a controlled manner.

Interestingly, if you drag the lock icon of the browser directly onto the pinned shortcut on the taskbar, it will pin SOMETHING to the jump list, but it is pretty useless.
