Scanned attachments won't stay on the email while I send the next one.

    [windows 10; Lenovo Laptop L340 17"; MS Outlook 2016].

Hello...SOS on a weird problem! In the past when scanning something to the email, it would appear on my email as attachment and all the subsequent scans I made would line themselves up on the same page one after another. BUT...

...today I need to scan and emal a few documents and only the first one comes out normal and on the email, but on doing the next ones it says "problem with open file, close it" when I close it my first scan disappears and can't even find it! I tried and tried using different ways but it always came to the same problem...

Would anyone here suspect why this happens and how to fix? Never happened before!!! Anticipating my BIG THANKS for any help! :) Adela

P.S. I tried internet but none of their answers applied to my particular problem even modifying my question each time.

If the scanned document is opened when you send it to Email, you have to close it before you can scan another.
Why not scan your documents to a folder on your computer and then Attach the scan documents to your Email?

I suspect you are trying to scan the document from the attach option within your email client? If so, that's a bit of a lottery whether it will or won't work - some ya win, some ya lose e.g. an update to your email client, scanning software, etc, whatever .... anything can happen. Past experience means nothing.

As suggested above @spunk, scan the document(s) separately and save them. Then attach them to the email - either from within the email program, or right-click on saved filename > Send to > Mail recipient

Curiosity - what email program? Scanner make/model?
