Firefox jumps to bottom of next page when scrolling thru long articles

When paging through long threads on a forum Firefox always jumps to the bottom of the next page instead of the top.
The problem also occurs in Safe Mode. It does not occur in other browsers such as Chrome or Edge. The forum in question is www.myfootballforum.com.

Hi, do you mean in Windows' Safe Mode, or in FF's own safe mode?

When paging through long threads

How..? Scroll wheel?

If you middle click in the page displayed, you should see an icon with up and down pointers. (possibly 4 if the window is reduced and the page width constrained)

Move your mouse pointer above and below that. Does the page scroll smoothly or not?

Have tried recommendations from Mozilla forum. All to no avail.

It does the same for me in LibreWolf (Firefox fork).

There's no middle click available on my touchpad. However selecting a page number and opening in a new tab opens the result at the top of the page in the resulting window.
