No, sorry - I don't use Windows Mail, so can't test anything.

@Callender, is there a way to tell Microsoft about this situation. I don't believe that they will listen to me, but i can't believe either that I'm the only one with this problem. If the only solution is a change of mail client, it's not a good solution for microsoft.

I'm sure that it won't make any difference.

Maybe just don't use it until it's replaced.

Eddydm, could you ask your supplier to try sending another e-mail to you with a different type of attachement? I would suggest trying just a plain text file as an attachment. See if that makes it to you successfully.

Does anyone know if there are certain requirements in Mail regarding certain file types? I'm thinking, for example, of certain built-in 'virus' checks that might consider certain files to be 'dangerous' and thereby remove those attachments? This is about a PDF file, but I have no idea with which software this PDF file was compiled, so who knows if there is anything special in it that would lead to that conclusion. I can also obtain and download the PDF in another way (and then my system does not give a virus warning.)
    English please.

    See item #11 here:

PDF's don't get removed by default. It's more likely that if you open a malicious PDF attachment then it would be blocked by security software.

Just ask the sender to rename the .pdf with the .doc extension then you rename to .pdf once received.

Just use another mail app. Forgot the windows mail app. It seems to be old and buggy,

    Have a read.

Personally I tried Bluemail but didn't like it. There are plenty of decent updated and working alternatives.
