Many sites that used to work on Firefox don't any more

I use Firefox. I am using both Windows 10 Home (on my new Surface7) and Pro (on my aged HP Z-800). Over the past few months, first the Loewe's site stopped giving me most of the information it provides in Edge, and the Surface will not let me sign in to the New Yorker (although I can use the other Conde Nast publication, Wired). The New Yorker site works fine on Chrome.

On Firefox, the sign in page on the New Yorker has the boxes to fill in for login and password, but clicking the buttons does not cause them to work. Most of the Loewe's site does not show at all and the search function does not work.

Is this a known issue? I would hate to lose Firefox, but I see that its share of market is declining sharply.

I'm on FF 101, and I just checked the New Yorker... it works fine.

It may be an addon causing you problems, or one of the Firefox "Settings".

You can go to: Help > Troubleshoot Mode... which will temporarily disable all addons and Settings.
Then you can see if sites like the New Yorker start working again.

If the problem goes away in Troubleshoot Mode, then you'll have to figure out which addon or Setting is causing the issue.

If you still have the problem... see below...

    1. Flush the FFox cache of everything (make sure you know all your passwords). Retry.

    If that doesn't work ...

    2. Uninstall FFox using RevoUninstaller. Don't reboot if prompted, use the Advanced option to remove all leftover files, folders and registry entries. Then reboot and re-install latest version.

Don't go the radical surgery suggestions such as reinstalling Firefox or even Windows.

I had this myself for a while, below are the steps I did.
Check if proxy settings are turned off. (Settings> network & Internet> proxy.) Make sure it's turned all off.
Also check your firewall and security software for not blocking.

Also, check your DNS. (Settings> network & Internet> ethernet> change adapter options.
Select main network card or whatever controller (WiFi) is running.
Right click, select "properties", "Internet protocol version 4" (TCP/IP D4)
    click on properties.

I have found if you enter a DNS server address the problem goes away.

Select the radio button "use the following DNS server address".
I found that cloudflare is one of the best.
Enter in the preferred DNS server: 1.1.1.1
and under alternate DNS server: 1.0.0.1
click on okay and close and reboot your system.

Alternately you can also try this by entering your subject line as a Google search string.
Try this: FIX!!!! Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can - YouTube

Or wait for Firefox update to version 1372.134.226.01.... Probably by next year...

Yes, Firefox can make some websites crazy - but it also adds some protection.

    Start with the default settings.

You need to look to the immediate left or the URL in the Address Bar some icons with settings might need to be temporarily disabled to work properly.

Tools -> Settings -> Browser Privacy

Let the default setting be selected as Standard and go from there.
There are many options on that page which can lead to confusion.

    FWIW.
