Why Three Microsoft Browsers Listed In CCleaner ?

I use ccleaner like a lot of other people and wonder why "Edge Chromium" is listed when it was superseeded by "Microsoft Edge" ?

Also I'm hoping that "Internet Explorer" will disappear from the options at some stage.

    Good question.

Part of it has to do with their mediocre software design, which is nearing bloatware status.

Nevertheless, here is the answer - agree with it or not.

Haven't used CCleaner in awhile. Does FF and Chrome show up and/or the effectiveness cleaning those ?

MS Edge, Edge Chromium, Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, System and Advanced show up on the Windows tab.
Firefox, (and I assume Chrome), Internet, Multimedia, Utilities and Windows, show up on the Applications tab.

The "Temporary Internet Files" folder isn't just used by Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will be retired but many applications use some of it's components and I don't expect they will be removed anytime soon. As long as the folder may still be used I expect CCleaner will provide the means to clean it.

Yes, I was just curious about the effectiveness. Should have specified Applications.

Last time I used CCleaner had an issue with removing Chrome cookies though I had all appropriate boxes checked. Didn't really research thoroughly.

    I don't use Chrome.
I use Firefox, and CCleaner seems effective for that. It also has a white list for cookies you want to keep.

I have it set like this for Firefox...

I agree with the comments made above but one important note.

Do not use the CCleaner Driver Updater!

    That's it.

Also, be wary of the 'Duplicate Cleaner'. You don't want to use it to remove system files.
