    My PC virtual name concern

I have a PC that I built sometime in 2015. To make a long story a little shorter, I believe Windows designated a virtual name for it. It is DESKTOP-866G***. That is not the problem. I am also running Opera browser as my main browser. When I checked my bookmarks in the Opera settings, it shows the DESKTOP-866***, but also shows another PC virtual name as DESKTOP-H466***. The confusing thing is that all of my bookmarks (and speed dial tiles, which Opera uses like bookmarks) are in this H466*** spot in Opera settings. Did Windows create this other designation? If I search in file explorer for Desktop 866***, I get some files designated as program files, but when I search for the other name (H466) I get nothing. Is there a reasonable explanation for this? Did Opera create this designation to house those bookmarks? I don't know either. The problem I am having is that I don't want to lose all of those bookmarks if and when I decide to switch to another browser (Edge, or Firefox). I have already tried to export or import them, but Opera does not play well with the other browsers. Any suggestions?

Did you ever clean install Windows again over this 6 year period?

Yes, I did a clean install to update Windows 10 to the latest version 21H1 last year or the beginning of this year. Not sure if it was a clean install, but I believe it was.

Each time, with a clean install, it will generate a new random Computer Name.

I don't know how Opera works but it's possible if you transferred some kind of profile between the original OS install in 2015, this 'DESKTOP-H466***' ID was the original name back then when Opera was first installed. Then, after 21H1, the Computer name was reset to this current name, 'DESKTOP-866G***', that you see system wide.

You can see your ComputerName in several ways, for example by using this command
    Code:
    echo %ComputerName%
    You can change your ComputerName
    Rename your PC - TenForumsTutorials
but, if you have a home network, you'll then need to check your shared folder paths on the other computers because they refer to them in the form
    ComputerName\ShareName
so this will need to be adjusted.

    All the best,
    Denis
