    Open new tab

When I click a website link with the mouse button, it opens a new tab to the right of the existing one, which is what I want. However, I still have to click on the new tab to open it. Is there a way to get it to open automatically?

I am using latest version of Edge with W10.

    Thank you for looking.

This thread from a couple of years ago says either hold Ctrl+Shift while you click or install Tab Activate extension:

Thank you for reply. I do not know where tab settings are in Edge, and I already have Tab activate installed.

You shouldn't need any tab settings for Ctrl+Shift+click to open a link in a new tab and switch to it.

Why doesn't Tab Activate work for you? Perhaps the permissions it needs?

    Required Permissions

    Read and change your bookmarks:
Required to activate bookmarked tabs (bookmarks are only read, not changed)

Read and change all your data on the websites you visit:
Required to detect when the Shift key is pressed (no other website data is accessed)

Due to limitations in the Chrome extension API, the only way to detect if the Shift key is being pressed or if a new tab's URL is bookmarked is with the required permissions. Absolutely no data is changed or collected.

I removed Tab Activate, and reinstalled it. All seems to be working correctly now.

    Thank you for your help.
