    Playback video query Firefox

    What does the following mean?

    HLS.js error:networkError-fatal:true-manifestLoadTimeout

I see this message when trying to play certain videos....is it because the video in question comes from various data streams and times runs for loading.

    Thankyou

You do NOT say whether you are playing the video from within a Website, and if so, what Browser you are using. Or, are you talking about playing the video with Windows Media Player or VLC for example.

I did a bit of investigating for you and found this which might be useful . . .

    I hope this helps.

I don't know if this is useful or not, but you can also check to see if the HLS network/timeout error is related to the stream packets emitted by a particular Source / Server, or if the problem generally exists with say the Browser / Network / Firewall etc. by checking the "Real Time Metrics" of the demo video at the following test site :

GitHub - videojs/http-streaming: HLS, DASH, and future HTTP streaming protocols library for video.js

    Playback video query

    Thanks very much for replies.

I have checked the Github link...way above my pay grade...i have no experience in coding at all.

However, it is due to live streaming data packets which come from vaious sources...either the video from the souce is badly coded or a mismatch between various encoders that are in use.

I found this link... How to Troubleshoot Your HLS Live Stream

which i found easier to understand as it is written in plain English.

Have found a workaround by copying the video name and doing a search on web and sometimes the video i am having with loads and play ok.

Very sorry about the link (which I put up in error). Anyway, the correct link should have been:

Thank you for reply Das 10,

Have the amended link you provided ....and the sample Bunny video plays ok...taking into account slight buffering and load time.

May be it's just the site which is just provides video hosting links. One or many links may be corrupted, eventually the video does play once a good correctly setup video hosting is found.

I use Mozilla Firefox 98.0.1 latest version and i use NoScript which shows various source links which by you switch on off to find the correct video souce. When i disable NoScript the video screen ( which is embedded) is just black.

    Anyway,i found a workaround.

    Have a nice weekend
