Are any of thoise extensions common to your Chrome installation? If so then that may be the culprit. Never mind about turning them off. How about removing them and test to see how it goes. You can always reinstall them. Even install one at a time and test.
I just uninstalled h264ify extension, retested, and it works. I did nothing else at all.

    Did not close EDGE, nothing.
I dont have a clue if it will keep on working or not.

None of this makes any sense to me, for now I think it is like fake news and the problem will be back.

The search link is this that gave me about blank void results
tee fuel valve - Bing - Shopping

I also notice when I click on a shopping item, it now loads the item in an expanded different view, which you then have clck to go to the item, which is what it should do.

I might suggest possibly using another extension instead of "Custom New Tab URL" which I've never used but it does show:

    Consider this:

New Tab Start Page - Chrome Web Store

Make Edge open new tab to right of existing tabs

    Interesting.
Well this AM, another update again for EDGE, so I updated, restarted EDGE, and it is working ok.
