MS Edge, what are mini menu and smart actions options?

MS Edge -> Settings -> Appearance -> Context menus



Can somebody please explain these options, and please give steps to see the visual difference when options are toggled on\off.

To what context menu do these apply to be able to spot the effect of options and decide whether to use them or not?

The mini menu is a simplified right click menu. When the option is selected, you'll find a little ⋮ on hover of selected text. Below is an example of the Mini menu

Text selection mini menu works as you explained however not on all sites, it works on this site, but it does not work for example on Office 365 Login | Microsoft Office

Another sub question is, toggling on\of right click menu option does not do anything.

And yet another sub question is, what are "Smart actions"?
I don't see any smart actions or lack of them, regardless of how options are set or unset.

EDIT:
OK, I figured out there is a list of sites against which this setting will not work, under "Disabled sites"
But I still don't understand what are "smart actions" and "right click menu" options don't work according to options.

There should be a Disabled sites option below activating / deactivating the mini menu. From the office might be disabled as standard.

Thank you a lot for the link, very useful one!

I have discovered that I'm missing the "Define" menu item, in both the main menu and mini menu.

I've reset edge to default and the "Define" menu item is still missing, anyone knows why?
I suspect this is due to my region setting in Windows which is not English? IDK, but otherwise OS display language is English.

Any clues?

The 'show smart action' toggle under 'Show mini menu when selecting text' appears to do nothing and dissappears when toggling 'Show mini menu when selecting text' to off. It's the above Show smart actions under Context menus that works.
