FF won't allow me to set where files are downloaded.

    Hi, V#: 1909

After yrs of use, now FF won't allow me to set where files are downloaded.

There is a download location already in place, #1, but you can't replace it. FF locked me out.
#2 & 3 indicate where I want downloaded files to land. It's called the whse & most Small & Large businesses have one so they can safely receive & store incoming materials, products, etc..

Inserted below is a numbered image that steps you thru the process.

    Hello,

Works fine here with v96.0.1 64-bit - the current release version.

Not sure if this is your issue, but you can't edit the existing path in the box window.

You must 'Browse' to a new one by clicking on the Browse Button.

What this also means is that the drive and path must exist. So it's possible for the box window to hold an old stale path that's no longer available. It then appears to use the 'This PC / Downloads' as a default location

    Hi,
This forum has been a great help to me as I'm 82 wheelchair bound, & living in NJ, & the ability to effectively set up & us a PC, "gaming laptop", is necessary to survive.
