Google search constantly reverting to dark mode

Tried every thing i know atm.
Followed all internet related search issues to NO avail .
Eyesight is my issue.

Win 10 Pro 21H2 build 19044.1466. Firefox Browser , Search engine Google .

Admin account >Win10 appearance , color > set to light theme . OK
Google settings > Appearance >set to light and saved .

Re boot computer and initial opening of Google search window is LIGHT ! then any subsequent use of Google search appears as Dark mode ????? Google settings revert to Default mode by itself .
Frustrated ,and hard to read .
Any assistance appreciated . This has happened only since Last update 19044.1466

Reset Chrome or reinstall to see the effect.

Even when the settings icon shows light mode, Chrome can be in dark mode. Toggle between dark and light modes then it will set light mode.

Reinstalled Firefox ,reconfigured to suit ,set google again as home page .
As suggested , > Google home page settings > appearance > toggled between Dark and Light . Saved result !!
Again initial google search page was light, (easy to read) further searches without closing > back to Home and search results page ends up Dark.
Much head banging !!!
