In Chrome I have a list of sites from which I **do not** want to accept cookies.
In each case I specify a site like this example:
[*.]audiob.us
And I specify Including third-party cookies on this site
Yet I still get cookies from those sites. Why is that? And how do I fix this?
BTW, this is Chrome 95.0.4638.69

I noticed that you haveNOThad ANY replies, so I thought that I would try and help.
I also use Chrome [ Standalone Install ]. If you are like me, I visit MANY MANY sites per Week [ 1,000's Easy ]. To keep on top of this on a daily basis would be an absolute nightmare. The way I overcome this, is I have written a Batch Script [ Specific for my needs ] to run as and when I need. It includes clearing History, TEMP, Cookies, etc, you get the idea. I doNOTsee ANY impact on Performance or lag when opening sites, and It works brilliantly for me.
The Batch Script also cleans the Component Store, clears the CBS logs [ .cab, .log, .txt ], DISM logs, TroubleShooting History, runs CCleaner [ Predetermined Parameters Set ] & CleanMgr, clears the Event Viewer logs, and then runs Defragment [ HDD ] and CHKDSK.

I also have a script to clear history, cookies, and other stuff from both Chrome and Firefox. I guess that helps ... but I can only run the script to clear that stuff after I exit the browser (because of file locks).
In the interim the devious tracking can still take place. As in: I search for some household item online ... and when I later go look at my Yahoo mail ... presto ... there are ads for that kind of item. Coincidence? Nope.
That's why I wanted a way to block those cookies. The mechanism is present in Chrome ... but it doesn't seem to work in many (most?) cases.

OK, I updated to version 97. That forced me to change my cleanup script. The Cookies file (a SQLite database) was moved.
It used to be in:C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cookies
But it is now in:C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Network\Cookies
So the script is fixed.
I'll have to run Chrome for a while to see if the "bad" cookies re-appear.
The problem with many sites due to EU laws is if you dont let cookies you dont get into the site
Things are looking good. I've not spotted any mal-cookies. I guess it was a Chrome bug, and gone after I updated Chrome.
