    Chrome + Firefox

Hi Folks, I had been using the same Gmail address, contacts & bookmarks in Chrome & FF for years, it gave me the option to easily switch default browser anytime I wanted.
I now have an Android smartphone using the same Gmail account. I set it to sync my contacts email addresses. I then realised I could include phone numbers. I could add them using my phone or PC.
Now when I use FF, I get a Security Alert after clicking 'I Agree' then sign in as in my attached image.

Your advice would be very helpful.

That seems to just be a notice of the Chrome/Google policy on cookies and data collection. Is that your question ?

No, it only occurs in FF not in G Chrome. It does not occur in FF portable.

It's to do with cookie handling. I use an addon to dismiss the warning. See video. It shows google search page with addon disabled (you get the warning) and then the same page with the addon re-enabled (the warning is automatically dismissed).

    Video

    If interested:

Just a note to say that maybe one of your browsers stores the cookie and thus you don't get the warning whereas the other browser might be auto deleting stored cookies on exit so you get the warning next time you visit the page.. Just a guess.

That is nothing to do with Direfox, It is a standard Google Facilities/Account check.

    I don't have Direfox installed.
Get that exact same window in Edge or Chrome Browsers.

My advice would be to go thru the customise option now and again, so you will then know what it is all about.

You will be surprised what is in there and will undoubtedly change some options.
It is tedious, but it is in your interests.

Check cookie settings in Firefox and add an exception for google if you want to. Uncheck delete cookies when Firefox is closed.

Or add an exception for google.

Check settings for FF installed and for FF Portable.

At present, my default browser is Chrome and has been for 2 months approx. I have gotten into the habit of opening FF first to see it the same pops up, it usually does. I then close FF and open Chrome, it is pop up free.
I recently started using Glary Utilities instead of Ccleaner. Nothing has changed.

If you use system cleaners to clear cookies then you will get the pop up every time after cookies were cleared unless you tell the system cleaning software which cookies to keep or ignore. Those system cleaners might not be able to deal with clearing portable browser data in which case you'd have to add your own entries to deal with that or else use the settings built into the portable browser to manage data.

If I open FF and my image appears, I click 'I Agree' then Sign in. When I am finished with FF, I just close it without signing out.
Next day the image will appear again, and that's without using any system cleaner.
