The latest version of CCleaner (96.0.4664.93.) does not clear cookies.

Below link from CCleaner Forum details (to be corrected in update). Link states for Chrome but also applies to Edge on my system.

CCleaner not deleting Chrome cookies - CCleaner Bug Reporting - CCleaner Community Forums
    I use Microsoft Edge Windows 10 21H2 & CCleaner free v5.88.9346 64-bit from CCleaner's website.
--- I don't have any problems using CCleaner free and I like being able to white-list the cookies I want to save.

I am not familiar with using Chrome.
You have "The latest version of CCleaner (96.0.4664.93.) does not clear cookies."
That's quite a different version from what I'm using.
I went to ccleaner's authentic website, they have alternate options to use.
Is your CCleaner from the authentic CCleaner website & is it CCleaner free?

On the complaints about using CCleaner, I haven't seen one yet about CCleaner clearing cookies in both Chrome & Edge at the same time.
--- For those in the know, is the same CCleaner free supposed to work on both Chrome & Edge at the same time with the same CCleaner version?
--- Somehow, I suspect CCleaner free should be run in each browser separately.
--- Naturally I could be wrong, but I don't have a problem admitting that if there is proof that I am wrong.
--- I haven't seen a clear answer in Chrome's help site in regard to your issue.
--- Next time I service a PC using Chrome & CCleaner free, I'll compare that if I think of it.

    EDIT
Sorry Bree, I missed your information in post #10.
I clicked on refresh before posting what I just did.
I did not see go to "first unread post", so I just posted what I did.
I'll have to double-check for unread posts while I was writing what I posted.
The good news though is your information answered what I was looking for.

Thanks for the clarification on the version number. I quoted the poster from the CCleaner Forum who posted the Chrome version as the latest CC version.

I have used CCleaner for years. Don't always check, but seemed like it cleared all cookies before. Perhaps there was a change by Chrome to prevent. But as someone said above, "Top Men are Working On It"

LOL. I was gonna say: "that's from Raiders of the Lost Ark", then I saw the pic.

CCleaner isn't what it used to be since Avast acquired it in mid-2017. CCleaner is nothing more than spyware now. I've moved to the Glary Utilities. Check it out.

    I'm using the Pro version.

If you search the web for CCleaner reviews, you'll see a lot of bad press.

I did try Glary Utilities free edition and it does the good job!

Be aware if you uninstall Glary it leaves remnants.

Perhaps I should have used the Glary uninstaller, GlarySoft, instead of the Windows uninstaller. But like all Freeware, caution is the word. Remnants were identified on an ESET scan as a PUP.

I've been using it for about a year now and haven't experienced any issues. The CCleaner bad press convinced me to seek an alternative.
