There is a version in the MS Store written and modified and controlled by the Mozilla Organization. It is Firefox from Mozilla. MS does not have anything to do with the contents and code of it, only Mozilla, just like the non-store version.

Not so much as cut out the middleman as it's to be sure I get what the company intended me to have.

Not unless MS has "modified" it in some way, which I wouldn't put past them possibly doing at some point.
Especially since they're heck bent to make us all use Edge!

Wynona, if it helps, I posted this just before your 2 posts.

I can't see myself downloading Firefox from Microsoft store, mainly because I always use the beta releases.
I also feel happier geting my downloads from the developers site, horses for courses

Points well taken. The real point I was trying to get across to Wynona and anyone else is the Store version of Firefox IS written by Mozilla and controlled by Mozilla and not by any third party including Microsoft. There seems to be a belief growing that this is NOT the case, and I assert again it is. There is no 3rd party interference. It was placed in the Store for the convenience of those who would like to get their apps there. That's all. There is no collusion with MS or anybody else with the FF code or content.

I understand, TC. However, it's not just the Store that I avoid when downloading an app/program. I go straight to the developer's site because there are so many dangerous sites playing like they have the "real" thing. It's just one of the safety measures I use.

Good for you. You should have a well oiled machine, then.
