Can't Create YouTube Account Using Guides To Create a Gmail Account...

Can't Create YouTube Account Using Guides To Create a Gmail Account Without a Gmail Address?

I want to get on to YouTube without using a GMAIL address. There are quite a few guides out there explaining how to create say a Hotmail address that will allow you to use it in lieu of a GMAIL address but still with all the benefits of a GMAIL address.
I have created the Hotmail account and went through the process of creating a GMAIL account using the Hotmail account address and GOOGLE sent me a confirmation code to the Hotmail account which I then inputted into GOOGLE but I always end up with GOOGLE asking me to verify with a phone number.
I don't want to do that. Is there a work around? TIA.

I just discovered this information for you:
Create YouTube account without Phone Number

"As for creating YouTube account without phone number, it is of course possible. By default, the phone number field is just an optional field on the Google account sign up form. It is recommended so that Google can recover your account by contacting you via your given phone number if you ever lose your account by accident.

However, there are some scenarios and conditions where a phone number is required and compulsory when creating a YouTube or Google account. The most common scenario is when you have already signed up for multiple YouTube or Google account, Google will ask for your phone number if you attempt another sign up. When Google detects unusual activity that looks like a spam, including too many YouTube or Google accounts being signed up, it will ask for phone number for your next Google account sign up. If you don’t provide one, they won’t allow you to create any more account with them."
    UPDATE
I deleted my first attempt at replying as I provided a link to the site I visited which I then discovered was flagged up as UNTRUSTWORTHY by my AVG Online Security extension. So I edited this and just quoted the text instead to prevent anyone clicking on a link that seems insecure. Unfortunately, you wre so fast at posting a reply that you quoted the original version containing the link. I didn't catch anything nasty from it anyway. The AVG message was that "a lot of other users had reported it as insecure."

    Best wishes.

    Christophe.

Does this info help? Create YouTube account without Gmail or Google account The article says no phone is needed, so the instructions may work. Worth a try. Best wishes.

    Christophe.
Thanks. I'll give it a shot tomorrow however part of the instructions say...

Google will then send a piece of verification code to that entered email address.Check on your email account. Copy the code and paste over to the Enter code screen.

...and one of the YouTube instruction videos gave that info as well and a code was sent to my newly created Hotmail account and clicking NEXT brought me to a page where it asked for a phone number to verify : (

Maybe these instructions will give a different result. TIA.
