    Screen tearing in firefox

I have a seriously annoying problem with screen tearing in firefox. It's so bad that it sometimes makes it unwatchable if im watching a video. I have tried enabling v-sync for firefox in nvidias control panel, but it doesn't seem to help.

Is there really no way of getting rid of this annoying screen tearing, besides buying a g-sync monitor? I have gotten rid of screen tearing in my games by using nvidia's fast sync, so it should be possible to get rid of it in browsers too?

Either disable Hardware Acceleration in Settings, or change gfx.webrender.software to TRUE in about:config. I've had the same issue along with random UI glitches. I did the about:config way as it still allows Hardware Acceleration, but limits hardware from taking over, and uses WebRender's software fallback instead.

Is it gfx.webrender.enabled that you are talking about, because that's the only one i could find?

No. It's software. Not sure why you don't have it.

    Hi,

    Try to toggle to true

    Code:
    layers.acceleration.force-enabled
    It often fixes the issue.

    Hello @Cerawy.

I’m assuming you are attempting to turn on v-sync for Firefox, the thing that often causes screen tearing?

Enabling or disabling VSync is a simple process. Follow these easy instructions steps to master your control buttons.

Step 1: Access the NVIDIA control panel by entering NVIDIA control panel into your Windows search bar

Step 2: Select Manage 3D Settings

Step 3: Under the Global Setting tab you should find a list of features. Scroll down and find Vertical Sync

Step 4: Using the dropdown menu to the right, select Force on

Settings will differ depending on your specific graphics processor, however this four-step procedure is a universal method of accessing your VSync settings.
    Quoted from HP Store

But since you’ve tried something along these lines, make sure Firefox is up to date.

+When did your problems start, do the same things occur in another browser?
