Chrome: HIDE "recently closed" drop down menu completely?

How can I hide this first "drop down menu" icon (with the actually openend and recently closed tabs) in Google Chrome Version 96.0.4664.45 completely?

I don't look for a "clear all entries solution", I'm really only bothered by this down arrow in front of the usual window controls like minimize or maximize.

If there is no built-in solution in Chrome, do you know any extension who would hide it?

    Hi.

It looks like this solution will resolve your issue: How to remove the Search Tab in Chrome

    Best wishes,

Thank you @CMArbres for this hint.
Unfortunately, in my up-to-date Google Chrome v96 there is no such flag
    Chrome://flags/#enable-tab-search anymore:

This is the only option I can find with "tab search". This one only change the design of the drop down arrow. But it doesn't hide it.

In the meantime I found this two related entries:

I see. I also run Version 96.0.4664.45 (Official Build) (64-bit) and have the same problem. Hmmmm, I am looking into it and will post back here if I find anything. Sorry about the false hope.
