how can i remove a pop up from my ISP?

My ISP refuses to admit they are behind this but i know it's them for several reasons. Several times a day i get a pop up banner in my browser telling me my data use is getting close to the 200GB limit. Problem is, it does this every day regardless of how much data i used. It could be the first day of the monthly cycle and i've used less than 1 GB of my 200 and it still pops up. No malware/virus app finds it because it's not a malware or virus and when i have tried to to "inspect element" in my browser in hopes of banning it in my settings i can't see any reference to it, at least nothing obvious. Any ideas? I would switch ISP's but they are the only option in the rural area i live other than satellite at 3 times the $.

Press the Windows and "i" keys simultaneously, click "Network and Internet", then "Data Usage" and see if you have a data limit set. If so, disable it or set it correctly.

I've done that when the rep lied to me about where it;s coming from but no limit is set. The banner is from my isp, i called them this morning and unlike the last rep this one admitted it but had no answer as to how and stop/remove it.

Rather than set your whole internet DNS, you can select a DNS provider in your browser.

    Which browser do you use?
    - open your browser settings
    - search for DNS
    - in the appropriate section, choose Cloudflare

E.g. Edge browser > Settings > search DNS > one of the subject headings listed is Use secure DNS to specify how to lookup etc > underneath option Choose a service provider > click the box > choose Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)

Similar settings in other browsers (Firefox, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi ... can't help with Google Chrome)

Having said all that, I'm inclined to believe your ISP, this is not the sort of thing they provide as a popup through a browser, it's usually a separate bandwidth monitoring program. I'm suspecting some sort of spyware/adware that recognises who your ISP is, but is coincidental to your browser usage.

    Download and run Malwarebytes (free)

EDIT : Also test to see if the same happens with other/multiple/all browsers.

Thanks, i'll tried it and we'll see what happens. In firefox theres a setting that says "enable DNS over HTTPS" and when you do it give you a drop down menu but the default is cloudflare so i just used that. As for malarebytes i have it and have already tried that. A rep from my ISP as much as admitted to me it is them and told me theres nothing they can do about it because thats just the way it works. I told her to message whoever programs that junk and tell them it warns you constantly even when you have only used a tiny fraction of data. They're a useless company. I've had many issues with them in the short time i'm been with them.
