This is a Chrome extension. Firefox has this feature built in.
If you choose the option "Delete private data when chrome closes" then there is nothing to click. Just close the browser and data will be automatically cleared according to what was selected in options. That extension no longer works with Firefox. There are options in Firefox to clear history on closing.
See: Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox | Firefox Help
How do I make Firefox clear my history automatically?
Just an FYI. There is a free alternative to Ccleaner that includes many of the Pro features found in Ccleaner including browser monitoring. (Clean on close). However it does way more than that and configuration (knowing what to clear and what to keep with regards to the rest of your system and software) is an issue. I guess that if you got to grips with Ccleaner settings you'd be okay with it.
I have to work now so can post more detail later if you are interested.
Yes I am interested but at the same time I don't want to make things harder than it is to manually clear history. I installed click and clean and it doesn't seem to work for me. It may be time for me to give up Chrome and use another browser that isn't a data mining program for a data mining company. Wish me luck
Post a screenshot of what you see when clicking the settings cog (at top right of clear private data button) please. You have to hover the mouse over the button to make the settings cog appear.
This one prevents history from being recorded at all, if you have history sync disabled.
No History - Chrome Web Store
@Eaglepi
I forgot to mention that you must choose to "obliterate the following items from" The beginning of time. (Setting)
Check what I click to set it up in this video.

when I go to the Chrome web Store and search for "no history" I don't find anything with that name. There are others like no history cleaner and other but nothing like your link. I would feel safer if I could see that extension at the store.

Once again than you for the time you spend explaining and making the video but Click & Clean doesn't work for me. I set the options like you had them and it appeared to be working but then I click on the 3 dots on Chrome right top and click on history and there is a list on the last 8 or 9 websites I visited.
Not sure what I am going to do now... The "No History" sounds good but I can find it in the Chrome Web Store and I don't like using links from people I don't know, no offense indented.
@Eaglepi
I have seen reports that some browsing history might not be cleared if using an older buggy version of Chrome browser so maybe just double check that it's up to date. (Latest version).
I've seen other reports that if Chrome is synced to your Google account browsing information is stored there and won't be cleaned. Check that history is disabled from the Chrome sync settings, or stop syncing completely.
(Assuming that you have a Google account)

I'm just guessing that this could be the issue.
