    Ditched Firefox for Edge

Been using FF for ages but recently found problems with it taking up a lot of memory and cpu so I have switched to Edge without any issues and finding it every bit as good without any issues....is it just me or anyone else finding the same problems with FF?

FF is taking 2GB on a similarly config'ed laptop, but there are over 100 tabs open all managed by vertical tabs. Cannot imaging doing this with Edge.

    petermik,
How much RAM did you save switching?

I'm still using Firefox - hopefully they will further optimize it to be competitive with Edge's lower RAM usage.

As of writing this I have no issues with Firefox. It does seem to use more memory than even Chrome for me (currently at 1.5GB with just Gmail and Twitch open), but CPU seems to stay lower than Chrome. I also was having WebRender issues where some pages would glitch (on two computers (one a laptop being four years old with an i5 and integrated graphics, and one being brand new (only a month old) with an i7 and dedicated graphics)), but switching from WebRender hardware to WebRender software fixed it. I've been using Firefox since V2, and for me it's the most stable, customizable, and most importantly to me, the only alternative to the Blink rendering engine that all Chromium based browser use, and I'll probably keep using it until something happens that really breaks it.

I prefer Google search in FF over Bing....much better IMHO and this is the only thing I,m missing but scrolling in Edge and load times much better....my Dynabook laptop is now performing better with the change

Does anyone ever tried to disable accessibility on Firefox Windows. There are currently a bug regarding it make the RAM stay high because of Windows Accessibility. Why does disabling Accessibility Services improve memory usage? : firefox
