Google drive videos won't play on Chrome

Google drive videos won't play in Chrome ... but they play just fine in Firefox.

The only recommendation I've found is to clear the Chrome cache. But no luck with that.

Plays fine in Brave, Vivaldi, Edge (and Firefox). Suggest it's a setting in Google Chrome (?)

Have they played before and just recently stopped?

Reset Google settings to Default, and test (Will be a PITA to change back to your preferences, but ....)?

Any extensions/add-ons? Turn all off (disable), test. If OK, turn on one by one.

(?? Is it my imagination or am I noticing an increasing number of posts in various/multiple forums across the internet about all sorts of problems with Google Chrome?)

I don't have Google Chrome. FYI: Plays fiine in Edge (Chromium) but not in Firefox. A Firefox addon blocks playback but it plays fine with the Firefox addon disabled. So check Chrome addons and maybe site permissions.

There are a couple of things Google drive is on the web so files have to be downloaded which can be a problem sometimes you may have to run twice to get it to run the other thing is what codec does the video use as chrome may not have it. If you down it to your pc can chrome run it then?

@MaloK: I stated that mine is broken. You said that yours works. Why do you bother posting useless information?

@idgat: You suggested disabling extensions. So I disabled them all. Then I closed and restarted Chrome. No luck.

@Callender: You suggested that I should check chrome addons. Did that, see above.
And maybe check site permissions. Well ... I don't know what that is. But perhaps you meant this ...

I found a setting for blocking cookies. It was set to "block third-party cookies". I changed it to "allow all cookies". Now the google drive video will play.

These are the site permission settings on my PC for your link while using Vivaldi, a Chrome type browser.

I allow all cookies, tried blocking the top 2 listed here and then the video would load but not play.

    Another good call, @Callender.

All good then. Have a read:

I don't use Google Chrome so can't be more specific.

I found the problem. In Chrome I disabled third-party cookies. That's a good thing. And not a problem ... except with google drive videos.

If I allow third-party cookies the videos will play.
