Last Firefox Update Broke Audio Within Firefox

Just got my latest update from Mozilla, and it seems to have broken all audio within Firefox. Youtube and other streams are soundless. All other audio functions like Winamp, etc. work fine. Just no audio in Firefox.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Works fine here with Firefox released v94.01. Which version are you using?

I'm using 94.01 as well. This is really confusing. I recently had to do a repair install due to a crash on boot-up. My formerly flawless PC has now developed a mind of its own. I wonder if it is a residual of that?

This reminds me of an issue I had a while back with Firefox - I think audio wasn't working with Firefox only. I ended up uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox and it fixed the problem IIRC - was weird because I couldn't find any other fix. Your Firefox profiles should not go away when you do this, but just find the folder where profiles are stored and make a backup copy just in case if you don't already make backups of your PC.

    Just FFox? Other browsers similar?

Usually the first/best go-to with (3rd party) browsers (for any problems).

If that doesn't fix, back up your settings/profile and do a "clean" uninstall with something like freeware RevoUninstaller or freeware Geek Uninstaller (don't forget to run the second part of the uninstall to remove leftover files/folders/registry entries). Doesn't keep any settings.

Then test before reinstalling settings/profile files.

So, in a fit of pique, I opened up the Volume Mixer and there was Firefox stuck at zero. So I opened up Chrome and went to Youtube and started a video which had sound. Using my main volume control adjusted Chrome and all other sounds but not Firefox. It wasn't until I clicked the Firefox slider and moved it up and down that the sound came back.

Now the sound is working fine. I have no idea why this happened, or just how I fixed it, but I will take it as a win.

I would like to thank everyone for trying to help me.
