Anyone recommend a good email archiving app to replace Mailstore?
I’ve been using Mailstore Home for a few years to archive email from Outlook 2010 on Windows 10 v21H1 (OS Build 19043.1288). A few weeks ago the archive stopped running as soon as it started, with a “pipe has ended” error. Mailstore support have suggested that the Outlook mail file may be corrupt, so I tried creating a new Outlook profile, with a new Outlook data file, but am continuing to get this error. They are no longer responding to my messages, so I guess they are out of ideas.
The error only occurs when archiving an IMAP email account with a @blueyonder.co.uk email address, which is hosted by Virgin Media (in the UK). If I use POP3 for the same account in Outlook Mailstore will run, but since I access my email from a number of devices this is not ideal.
Has anyone else had problems archiving IMAP/Outlook 2010 with Mailstore Home email recently?
If not, can anyone recommend a decent alternative to Mailstore Home which has robust support for IMAP servers and can handle large volumes of mail?

Just a query here

If you are using OUTLOOK 2010 what's wrong from using the archive function with it anyway. Another way is to create a new .pst file, open it and move all the relevant mail to it every so often and then close it again.
Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd like to avoid using PST files for archiving, because of the risk of corruption if the file is >2GB (which it will reach quite quickly). I also want to avoid amassing a long list of PST archive files, as it would make file management and searching a more onerous and laborious process.

I use Thunderbird and archive saved email in Local Folders, but they are only accessible on a single device unless the mailstore is synced between devices. The archives are organized by year and have never had any corruption. The process requires the period manual move of emails in the Inbox/Sent folders of the IMAP account to the corresponding folder in the archive.

Thanks. I haven't looked at alternative mail clients, as I have alot of distribution lists in Outlook and I want to avoid a lengthy migration process. I also use the Outlook calendar so would miss that too.

I use the Windows Calendar app in conjunction with TB. It can be linked to TB for viewing, but it cannot be updated in TB. The combination works well for me.
I make extensive use of the Tasks feature of TB and have not found anything that comes close for me purposes. My ToDo list in Tasks consists of one time tasks as well as recurring ones, e.g., monthly, quarterly, or annual reminders.

Presumably there would be no easy way of migrating distribution lists from Outlook 2010 to TB?

It can be done but I think it is a one distribution list at a time. Do some research in the forum.
