windows mail error code: 0x800b0109 failure

    Good evening.

I have been trying to set up email accounts in WIndows 10 mail app. I have about 5 email addresses associated with different email servers. I have Outlook.com, gmail.com, yahoo.com and sc.rr.com. The issue I am having is that I cannot add any more email addresses to the mail app. I keep getting the error code: 0x800b0109. It hasn't always been this way, but I do not know what changed. I am hoping that the Windows ten forum can assist me. I am running windows 10 version 21H1

Check for any Windows updates as well as driver updates.
Download & use Revo to uninstall the Mail app then download again from the MS store.

Thank you. I will try that.

I downloaded Revo. Ran the app and selected Mail and Calendar. Ran the uninstall button. Then scanned for leftover registry items. It found a bunch of items in the registry, but I have no idea what to delete or keep. Any suggestions

They look OK, however if you wish you can leave them.
    WindowsCommunication is the Mail app.

I use 6 Email Accounts three of which are the same providers, on the Mail App for over 5 years.

Settings > Apps > Mail and Calendar >

    1) Uninstall the Mail and Calendar App.

    3) Re-install from MS Store.

    > Advanced options

    4) Reset Mail App.

Settings > Update and security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps.

Additionally SFC and DISM command line stuff for Windows, tutorials on here.

I don't use Revo because of previous problems.

Thank you both for your replies. I will check the mail app again to see if it is working correctly.

Evidently I did something wrong, because the same error code is popping up when I try to set up a yahoo email account. wasn't sure if it was only this PC, so I checked my laptop and it is able to add mail accounts with no problems. I will try to uninstall the mail app again to see if this time it will work.

Another suggestion: For Yahoo accounts you most likely require an app specific password. Has this been created or is the setup not reaching this point?

When I try to add a Yahoo account, it goes to the spot where it asks me to type in the email account, but then, in less than a second, it changes to a box, where up in the left top corner in greyed out letters are the words "Can't connect to service". In the middle of the box is states "We can't connect to the service you need right now. Check your network connection or try again later". When I close this box I get the "something went wrong" error code: 0x800b0109.
This only seems to happen on Yahoo. It works fine when adding a google email and outlook email.
I really don't know if it's a Yahoo issue or my PC. I am leaning more towards my PC being the culprit. But I don't know why.

Do you type in the email/account details & this happens or does it occur if you don’t add anything?
Have you tried manually creating the account by using the ‘Other’option?

It occurs almost immediately. It does not even give me the chance to type in the email address. As for manually creating the account using the "other" option, I did not see any Other. I did go into mail app and manually added the yahoo account using both the imap and ipop methods. It created an account, but when I tried to sync with the server, it does nothing.

I decided to reset the mail app. When I did this, a few of my emails went away. So, I thought that I should delete all of the email accounts in the app and start over. Bad decision. I started up the mail app and added my gmail account. Good. Then, my outlook account. Good also. Then, my Yahoo accounts (three of them). Not good. That stupid error code is preventing me from adding ANY yahoo emails to the mail app.
Not that I necessarily NEED to access the emails from my PC, but it's just the principle of it not being able to work. I don't know how far I have to go to get it all working again (i.e. reinstalling windows 10, or maybe restoring to an earlier point). I will save those options for a later time, if necessary.
