Firefox Portable Edition running under the supervision of Sandboxie Plus. By using multiple sandboxes in Sandboxie Plus, it adds the following capabilities:
    • Can run multiple copies/instances of the browser, concurrently and in parallel, after editing the FirefoxPortable.ini file.
    • Each copy of the browser can have its own unique browser configuration/settings, and that also includes having its own addons configuration.
    • Each sandbox can have its own unique settings (and permissions). This opens the road to a whole plethora of extra possibilities that would not otherwise be possible to achieve AFAIK.
    • Easy backup/restore of the entire browser, also including its configuration/settings, by merely copying/renaming the portable folder according to preference.
    • Isolation. Although the Edge browser these days also uses (Windows 10) sandbox technology, protecting other browsers against malware infections, backdoors, ransomwares, etc. has proven to be cumbersome, and, Windows 10 sandbox technology is still limited in features and flexibility. Sandboxie has been in existence since many many years before sandbox technology was added (built-in) to Windows 10. By comparison, Sandboxie has all it takes to make it highly usable, even, with various other software applications besides browsers, whereas Windows 10 does not have.
    • Although Sandboxie Plus can also be used to protect other browsers besides Firefox Portable Edition like I said, there's nothing quite like running multiple instances of multiple, individually customized, copies of Firefox. The non portable version of Firefox doesn't give the same level of flexibility, and, the only thing that could come close would be to add virtualization, causing performance on my mid-priced/cheap laptop to drop like a block of concrete.
    • I can set my Sandboxed Portable Firefox as my default browser in Windows 10 by using a simple tweak, so that's also what I have done─and it works.
    • None of the above described use cases prevent me from still being able to use a different browser whenever I need to. So it's a win win situation alright. (I am always very eager to hear of better solutions, but, so far, I've heard only crickets........)
