Where are your passwords storedThus any instance of Edge launched under the same account should have access to them.
Your passwords are stored on the Microsoft servers (Cloud) under your account. This allows your passwords to be synced across all of your devices once you have signed into the browser on your device. These passwords are then cached onto the local folder for Edge under AppData. Only Edge will be able to read the data in this folder, and on the server.
No modern methods of managing passwords in an OS have backdoors that allow unauthorised recovery techniques.
What sort of account are you talking about?
- a user account? If you mean something like an MSAccount then you will need to use its own online password reset facility because nothing else is going to find it for you.
- an online website's account saved in edge://settings/passwords ? This function should let you recover them directly so I doubt you mean this.

and thank you very much for your reply.this is not a comprehensive link of where passwords files are stored
where are the password files stored before anyone signs in, and what if they never signed in
Try asking MS. MS is the designer.
You wanted to recover them- that gives you a way. Why do you want more? To hack someone's passwords, perhaps?
seems like this saves acc info if you had set it up or something, which almost noone does so
looks like thing had saved logins from some desktop apps.........
